    The SS Savannah Cross the Atlantic
    ***

    crafted on a well-preserved 77 Year old Envelope
    on a Strictly One-of-a-Kind FDC
    ABOUT THIS COVER
    The feature stamp
    on this expertly hand drawn and hand painted
    . . .
    and strictly One-of-a-Kind
    . . .
    add on FDC by Collective Covers is the PO's 1944
    125 Year Anniversary of the Savannah's cross-Atlantic Trip
    stamp, Scott # 923.
    About the inspiration for the feature stamp
    :
    the it was in May 22, 1819
    . . .
    exactly 125 years,
    to the very day
    , from this cover's cancellation date
    . . .
    that the
    S.S. Savannah
    embarked on a 27 day trek across the Atlantic to its final destination point of Liverpool, England. With her June 20, 1819 arrival at Liverpool,
    the Savannah
    became the very first steamship to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
    About the hand drawn and hand painted cachet
    : on this very visually pleasing cachet, we are able to scope out the Savannah, surrounded by a soothing tones of sharp lavender, while it coasts along through the foamy water of the Atlantic, with a misty fog "dead-ahead."
    About this cover's overall condition
    : since this FDC was crafted on a 77 year old envelope, let's take a look at its over condition together ---
    first off,
    the envelope's 4 corners, though not needle-point sharp, are in very respectable condition for an envelope that has been cruising the Hobby's seas for 77 years;
    secondly
    , the cover is virtually clean;
    third
    , their are no over-the-top creases, tears, or anything of that nature to worry about;
    fourth
    , and amazing enough, this 77 year old envelope is 100% flap-mark free;
    and finally
    , the cover's actually flap is tucked inside the envelope
    . . .
    un
    sealed
    . . .
    with its originally shiny glue fully intact.
