I was skeptical about this because it was half the cost of anything at HomeDepot or elsewhere. But now its installed and I am very impressed. First, it's much quieter than my old Insinkerator. I was also skeptical because my old Insinkerator was 1/2hp and this is only 1/3hp. This has plenty of power. I don't know why you would need any more in the average household. It's also smaller than my old one. It also had the plug-in cord attached. Many of the others do not. The cord is extra and you have to attache it. It was easy enough to install, but a couple of suggestions. Pay attention when you take it out of the box and prep it. There is a rubber ring that you have to take off in order to assemble the basket part that attaches to the sink. There are two ways it can go on and it has to be the right way. I ultimately ended up putting some lube on that rubber ring because you have to twist a metal ring to attach it and i had trouble turning it. I little Vaseline or similar made that much easier. It comes with a stopper, but not a strainer. If you've had a disposal you know without a strainer it would not be long before a utensil ended up down the drain. I had one, but you can get one that fits perfect for a couple of dollars. See photo.
Bought this was good price installed easy well after I watch a video and realized I was putting the rubber sleeve to high up on the flange but had a issue with the draining while the sink was running after a little investigation I figured out the issue was they drain stopper was too close together and was slowing the flow of water into the disposer so easy to remove boiled a pot of water to heat it up stretched it over some rolled up paper towel to reshape it and now drains normally didn't know if anyone else had a issue like this but just wanted to put this out
Good value for the money. Almost like clockwork I have to replace disposals every 5 years, whether expensive ones or cheap ones, so why buy expensive ones. After mounting the first time, it takes only 15 minutes to replace 5 years later since you can just dismount the old one from the mounting bracket and attach the new one. It's the disposal that wears out and rusts, not the mounting bracket.
